Visualizations

Overview

EMET produces 49 distinct visualization types spanning genomics, expression, protein and structural biology, chemistry, clinical data, networks, literature evidence, and report generation. Visualizations are always generated after data has been retrieved and interpreted — they appear as supporting evidence for findings described in the text, following the same conventions as figures in a scientific paper.

Most visualizations appear automatically when EMET detects the right data type. You can also request any visualization explicitly at any time. Every visualization supports both light and dark mode and renders inline in the conversation.

Where to see the full list

There are two easy ways to browse all available visualizations:

1. The Capabilities panel. Click Capabilities in the left-hand sidebar and scroll to the bottom of the page — you'll find a complete listing of every visualization type EMET supports.

2. Ask EMET directly. Type "What visualizations can you create?" or "What charts do you support?" and EMET will list all available types with examples.

You can ask "Can you visualize this as a [chart type]?" after any analysis — EMET will apply the most appropriate visualization to the data already retrieved, or explain why a different chart type would better suit the data.

How visualizations are triggered

Automatic generation

When EMET retrieves data that matches a known pattern — differential expression results, a protein structure, a list of variants — the appropriate visualization is generated automatically without any explicit request. For example, querying tumor vs. normal expression will produce a volcano plot; asking about protein subcellular location will produce an interactive cell diagram.

Requesting a visualization explicitly

You can ask for any visualization at any point. EMET understands plain-language requests and maps them to the correct chart type. Below are example phrases that work:

Visualizations always follow data. If you request a chart before any relevant data has been retrieved, EMET will first query the appropriate database, then generate the visualization from the real results.
